At Reid’s Heritage Homes, we believe that building strong communities goes beyond the homes we construct, it’s about lending a hand where it’s needed most. That’s why we’re proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity, an organization dedicated to creating safe, affordable housing for families across Canada.
Habitat for Humanity works hand-in-hand with volunteers and community partners to build homes that provide strength, stability, and independence for families in need. Each home is a shared effort, future homeowners contribute “sweat equity,” working alongside volunteers to help build their own homes and those of others. It’s a powerful model that transforms lives, one family and one home at a time.
Our team has had the privilege of rolling up our sleeves and joining Habitat on several Build Days to help bring new homes to life. These hands-on experiences are not only a chance to give back but also a reminder of the impact teamwork and compassion can have on a community.
In addition to our corporate build day, we were especially proud to support a Student Build Day, where two of our own team members volunteered their time to help mentor and train young minds eager to explore careers in the skilled trades.
“Volunteering with Habitat for Humanity was an inspiring experience. Working alongside high school students, guiding them through the build and emphasizing safety, was incredibly rewarding. Seeing their enthusiasm reminded me why I love what I do. With homeownership becoming increasingly out of reach, organizations like Habitat are making a real difference. I’m proud to support their mission and can’t wait to volunteer again!” — Phil Smees, Project Manager, Reid’s Heritage Homes
Sharing real-world knowledge and passion for craftsmanship helps inspire the next generation of builders, an investment as important as any home we build.
At the heart of these efforts is a shared belief: that everyone deserves a place to call home, and that when we come together as a community, we can build more than walls. We can build hope.
