Mental health care is an essential part of a healthy, thriving community — and we are proud to stand alongside Guelph General Hospital as it takes a major step forward in expanding and improving mental health services for our region.
Guelph General Hospital is currently underway with a significant redevelopment project that includes the construction of a new, dedicated Emergency Mental Health & Addictions Services unit, as well as an expansion of the hospital’s Emergency Department. This purpose-built space will provide patients experiencing mental health crises with improved access to care, greater privacy, and a more supportive healing environment.
A Much-Needed Expansion for Our Community
The new unit is designed to better serve the growing needs of Guelph and Wellington County. Once complete, it will include:
- A dedicated emergency mental health and addictions care space
- Expanded short-stay assessment capacity, allowing patients to be monitored and supported more effectively
- Improved intake and triage areas to streamline care
- Enhanced follow-up and counselling services
- Expanded ambulance access to reduce offload delays and improve emergency flow
Construction is underway, with completion anticipated in 2026 — all while the hospital continues to provide 24/7 emergency care to the community.
Our Commitment to This Project
Supporting Guelph General Hospital has long been important to our organization, and we are proud to share that we have finalized a $500,000 commitment specifically toward the Emergency Mental Health & Addictions Services redevelopment project.
This investment represents the combined efforts of company donations and the ongoing fundraising success of the Orin Reid Memorial Golf Tournament — created to honour Orin’s legacy by giving back in a way that directly strengthens our community.
“We continue to be a company that puts people — especially children — at the heart of everything we do,” said Ron McMillan, President. “The world today presents more challenges than ever, and too many young people are carrying the weight of that struggle. By supporting this mental health redevelopment, we’re helping ensure children and families have access to the care, compassion, and support they need — not just today, but for the future.”
Investing in Care That Matters
Mental health touches every family in some way. This $500,000 commitment is an investment in compassionate, accessible care — supporting the hospital’s ability to meet growing demand while creating an environment that reflects the importance of mental well-being.
We are deeply grateful to Guelph General Hospital for their leadership and vision, and to everyone who has supported the Orin Reid Memorial Golf Tournament and our broader fundraising efforts. Your generosity is helping shape a stronger future for mental health care in our region.
Together, we are building more than walls — we are building hope, dignity, and better care for our community.
