The excitement and delight surrounding the second annual Take a Ride for MacKids event was evidenced by the roughly 1,500 people who attended on Saturday, June 17th.
Hosted by Reid’s Heritage Homes, the day offered participants a fun-filled experience, while raising awareness and critical funding required to build a new state of the art pediatric nephrology unit at McMaster Children's Hospital. Highlights included scheduled shows by magician Bob Cates, multiple carnival rides and an impressive selection of machines that children could explore and ride, including helicopter rides, rides on a combine, bulldozer and excavator.
The weather cooperated and the rain held out until the very end of the event, allowing attendees plenty of time to enjoy all the attractions.
The projected fundraising goal of $50,000 for the event was surpassed, enabling the company to donate the surplus towards the purchase of a new dialysis machine for use in the new pediatric dialysis unit at McMaster Hospital.
Reid’s Heritage Homes would like to sincerely thank all the volunteers and patrons for their time and donations. This success couldn’t have been achieved without you!
